The weekends here and my weeks been rough
I got the scars so don't bother to doubt it
I asked my friends if they were ready for fun
and they said they no, the law doesn't allow it
I've got some thoughts and I'm heading down town
I'll give the mayor and the state my mind
When I go shopping I want the things I need
I got no spirits cause I got no wine
Well! This is a problem I, I've never know before
I, I earned some money and I, want the things that I labored for

I ain't no kid I can smoke and drink
And I've done both, no don't bother to doubt it
And when I'm feeling tough and pick a fight or two
Even though the law doesn't allow it
But when the weekend comes and my food is gone
the story changes and I'm not so old
Others can't choose the foods I eat
but the states got my drinking, my drinking is under control
Well, its a basic disagreement, about what I'm allow to do
I'd rather fend for myself, and make decisions that others refuse
And I, I want to be free, to make mistakes that may bring me harm
I've been protected long enough, since the day, since the day I was born
